The head of Yara, a global producer of chemical fertilizers, has warned that conflicts and tensions in the Persian Gulf, disrupting maritime transport through the Strait of Hormuz, have threatened global food production.

According to a BBC report, he cautioned that reduced use of fertilizers could lead to lower crop yields, potentially creating intense competition for food production.

He called on European countries to carefully evaluate the impact of price increases on the countries that are the most severely affected.

This comes as the Strait of Hormuz has been closed for more than two months due to the conflict involving Iran, the United States, and the Zionist regime.
