The Ministry of Borders, Tribes, and Tribal Affairs announced the resolution of a 45-year-long dispute between two families in the Peshah area of Achin district, Nangarhar province.
The conflict, rooted in a land ownership disagreement, had resulted in the death of one person, injuries to several others, and significant financial losses for both sides involved.
According to the ministry’s statement, the dispute was resolved through a tribal assembly (jirga) led by Qari Rahmatullah Ghazi Omar, head of the province’s Borders, Tribes, and Tribal Affairs Department.
Local elders, religious scholars, and community members facilitated the reconciliation process, bringing an end to the prolonged hostility.
