Reuters has reported that the price of diesel in the United States has reached $6.51 per gallon, marking the highest recorded level for diesel prices in the country.
According to reports, U.S. diesel prices have risen by more than 70% since the war with Iran began on February 28. Data from Brown University’s energy price monitoring system shows that during this period, the national average diesel price increased from $3.67 to $6.51 per gallon.
Among the key factors behind the surge in diesel prices are disruptions to energy supplies in the Middle East and continued Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil refineries, which have restricted diesel supplies to the global market.
As ongoing energy supply disruptions persist, the global diesel market faces the risk of further shortages, raising concerns about additional price increases in markets around the world.
