The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs announced in a statement that, at the regular meeting of the Economic Commission chaired by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, 66 draft domestic standards were approved, comprising 36 standards and 30 testing methods.
The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs stated that the standards relate to agricultural products, foodstuffs, medicines, textiles, chemicals and plastics, telecommunications and electricity, mining, construction materials, environmental protection, and other sectors.
The meeting also addressed the ownership of coal unloading, loading, processing, and packaging centres in Paktia, Paktika, Khost, Kandahar, and Nangarhar provinces. It was decided that the centres fall under the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, which will manage their operations, while the Ministry of Finance will be responsible for the relevant affairs at customs offices.
The statement added that the decisions of the meeting had been forwarded to the Office of the Leadership of the Afghan Government for final decision-making.
