The Ministry of Water and Energy has announced that on Saturday, August 2, a major agreement worth $10 billion will be signed between the Ministry and the private sector for the production of 10,000 megawatts of electricity. The signing will take place in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar.

According to the ministry, the agreement ceremony will be held at the Government Media and Information Center.

Experts in the power sector estimate that generating 10,000 megawatts of electricity could meet the entire country’s power needs and lead Afghanistan to full energy self-sufficiency.
