With the fall of the Republic in Afghanistan on August 31, 2021 (Sunbula 9th), former officials also chose to flee the country. Unfortunately, if you look at their achievements over the past two decades, they did not do any positive work for the nation and the country that would make them face the people. Therefore, they chose the way of escape and fled the country on American planes with the help of their Western and American supporters. Their escape was inevitable anyway; it was an expected matter because the majority of them, the officials, held foreign citizenships and remained in Afghanistan as hired drivers for Western projects.
They also engaged in such negative actions on the day of the evacuation that, unfortunately, the consequences are still difficult to recover from for Afghanistan and the Afghan people. They encouraged the military of the fallen republic to either loot Afghanistan’s national wealth or overthrow the government. In this regard, they either hijacked Afghan civilian aircraft or those of foreign countries, or they scrapped them at airports, and in addition, they disabled radar, other sensitive and non-sensitive important facilities and equipment.
Continuing their negative and hateful actions, they also worked to promote a harmful culture of their own, which was to scare away Afghanistan’s educated, expert, professional, and skilled class and, with the support of foreigners, encourage them to leave Afghanistan. They were spreading the fear that their lives would be in danger from then on, or that no one would give them jobs or that they would face other problems. They forced or encouraged them to leave the country under this pretext, which unfortunately resulted in Afghanistan losing a large portion of its professionals and skilled individuals. After a successful four-year journey, they are now gradually returning.
However, the professionals who haven’t arrived yet or are on their way to return and who are feared by the former traitors had their expertise, professions, and education aligned with Afghan standards and values. But now, abroad, they are either driving taxis, working as apprentices in supermarkets and shops, or doing other menial, difficult, and tiring jobs. They were held in camps like prisoners for a long time, many others were separated from their families and children, large and reputable families were broken up, and they were eventually faced with severe illnesses and hardships like depression. This was all a result of the same officials’ incitement and their hostility toward Afghanistan and its people.
Unfortunately, these officials residing abroad are still encouraging the general public and the remaining educated class to leave Afghanistan with the help of their foreign masters and to travel abroad by difficult and deadly routes. This is the peak of betrayal, treachery, and hostility toward the people, the country, and the people themselves, because those who were previously expelled are facing severe hardships and suffering, as they are neither allowed to return to the country nor are their human rights respected there. Some of them are committing suicide in those foreign countries, are suffering from mental illnesses, or are fed up with their lives.
So, the educated class and the general Afghan people in the country should understand that foreign countries are not as they are portrayed. This show is just a trap to deceive them, a trap that has already ensnared thousands and brought them to the brink of death. There may be economic or other problems in the country, but if we compare these problems to the problems of our compatriots living abroad, they are not comparable at all. They are neck-deep in a quagmire of problems there, so they should not be deceived by the ongoing propaganda and campaigns of the fleeing officials under any circumstances. Instead, they should roll up their sleeves for the country’s reconstruction and work to improve the lives of both themselves and their fellow citizens.
