Afghanistan’s Finance Minister, Mullah Mohammad Nasir Akhund, stated that the Islamic Emirate’s tax relief and reduction measures are ongoing and will continue in the future.

Speaking at a ceremony marking the announcement of new tax exemptions, Mullah Akhund said that if any trader or individual has been charged taxes beyond the amount required by law, the responsible officials will be held accountable. He added that taxes collected from the public are used to meet the country’s needs and serve the public interest.

Mullah Mohammad Nasir Akhund urged citizens to remain aware of their rights, saying, “The nation should not forgive me for even a single rupee if it is spent unnecessarily.”

He also said that the Afghan government has introduced tax relief measures in 13 different sectors over the past five years, adding that these efforts will continue to support economic activity and growth.
