Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, held talks with China’s Special Envoy, focusing in detail on strengthening bilateral relations, regional security, and the progress of the Urumqi negotiations process.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, China’s Special Envoy described the Urumqi negotiations as an important framework for regional stability and coordination, adding that the next phase of the process should pave the way for practical outcomes.
Meanwhile, the Foreign Minister stated that regional stability, balance, economic cooperation, and relations based on mutual respect form the core principles of Afghanistan’s foreign policy.
He emphasized that the success of the dialogue process depends on concrete actions and the strengthening of an atmosphere of trust, noting that the Afghan government has taken significant steps in this regard.
According to the ministry’s statement, both sides also stressed that the next round of the Urumqi negotiations should proceed on the basis of a clear, practical, and result-oriented agenda.
