Afghanistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, held a meeting in Kabul with representatives of countries participating in a traditional wrestling festival.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Muttaqi said Afghanistan aims to further expand and strengthen its relations with the world through sports diplomacy.
He added that since returning to power, the Afghan government has made notable progress in traditional sports and athletics.
Meanwhile, sports representatives from the participating countries praised the organization and management by Afghans, as well as the level of skill demonstrated in wrestling, and reaffirmed their commitment to continued cooperation and joint efforts in this field.
The international traditional wrestling festival, featuring seven countries, began last Thursday in Afghanistan, with the participation of 60 foreign athletes and 100 domestic athletes.
