Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak: Trump’s Gaza Plan a Political Cover for Netanyahu’s Crisis

Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak has criticized U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal to forcibly remove Palestinians from Gaza, describing it as a political tactic aimed at deflecting attention from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s weakening position and ongoing political crisis.

According to a report by Iran’s ISNA news agency, the Hebrew-language newspaper Calcalist also weighed in, stating, “Netanyahu traveled to Washington to stage a political victory. He secured hollow promises from an impulsive and unpredictable U.S. president, but the reality remains—the images of Israeli hostages speak for themselves.”

The publication further asserted, “There will be no victory here, nor will forced displacement take place. Netanyahu and his failing government must step aside so the country can begin to recover from the damage they have inflicted.”
