Former U.S. diplomat Zalmay Khalilzad says that on the third anniversary of Imran Khan’s imprisonment, the question arises whether jailing him has benefited Pakistan or not.

Writing on his X account, Khalilzad stated that although Pakistan has achieved some successes in its foreign policy, the country is now in a worse economic and security situation than it was three years ago.

He added that Islamabad’s relations with Afghanistan and India have also become more strained than before.

According to Khalilzad, Pakistan needs a fundamental review of its policies and a domestic political reconciliation to overcome its current crisis.
