Former Chair of the UK Parliament’s Defence Committee, Tobias Ellwood, has called on the British government to engage with the Afghan government.
He warned that continued isolation of Kabul would only benefit groups such as ISIS in the region.
Ellwood also criticized the slogans and reactions of activists based in the West regarding women’s rights in Afghanistan, saying that such “outcries” and responses have been ineffective.
According to The Telegraph, the British politician had also stated three years ago that Afghanistan was in a better condition under the rule of the Islamic Emirate than it had been previously.
