Hossein Mozaffari, governor of Iran’s Khorasan province, has issued a warning that Iran may fall behind Afghanistan unless it takes urgent measures to accelerate industrial development.

According to a report by ISNA news agency, Mozaffari stated at a recent meeting that Afghanistan is rapidly expanding its industrial capacity, currently operating around 160 manufacturing plants just beyond the border.

He emphasized that delays in decision-making could jeopardize Iran’s economic opportunities. Should this situation persist, Afghanistan is on track to surpass Iran in the industrial sector.

In recent years, Afghanistan has made significant efforts in industrial growth, with hundreds of factories, both large and small actively engaged in production across the country.
