The High Commission for Addressing Refugee Issues has stated that refugees returning to the country via Torkham are being delayed for days due to unnecessary pretexts.

The commission emphasized that Afghan refugees should not be delayed on the other side of the Disputed Line, adding that it has all the necessary facilities to receive and resettle them.

The commission also said it is capable of managing any number of Afghan refugees entering the country on a daily basis.

Furthermore, the commission called on the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to engage with the Pakistani military authorities to ensure the swift release of Afghan refugees and to address this issue as soon as possible.
