The Afghanistan chamber of commerce and industries reports that the volume of trade between Afghanistan and Pakistan in 2024 is the lowest it has been in recent decades.

According to officials from the chamber, the trade volume between the two countries has decreased from over two billion dollars annually to just one billion dollars.

Political disputes between Kabul and Islamabad, clashes along the Durand line, and unpredictable restrictions are considered to be the main reasons. The Afghanistan chamber of commerce and industries warns that if the authorities of both countries do not take necessary action, trade relations will deteriorate further in 2025.
