India has initiated a range of healthcare development projects in Afghanistan, including the construction of five health centers in the provinces of Paktia, Khost, and Paktika, as well as a 30-bed hospital in Kabul, according to a statement from the Indian government’s media center. The initiative also encompasses efforts to enhance the capacity of several existing medical facilities in the country.

The statement further noted that since April this year, following the introduction of a new visa system, India has issued a total of 500 visas to Afghan citizens, including 200 medical visas.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan’s Minister of Public Health, Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, is on an official visit to India, a move expected to facilitate broader and more structured cooperation in the healthcare sector between the two countries.
