Iranian media reported that the authorities have detained four individuals on charges of attempting to disrupt the country’s political and social order and of working in favor of the United States and Israel during the anti-government protests in January.
Those arrested include Azar Mansouri, the head of Iran’s Reformist Front; former diplomat Mohsen Aminzadeh; and former member of parliament Ebrahim Asgharzadeh. The name of the fourth individual has not yet been disclosed.
It is worth noting that prior to this, the Iranian government had also arrested a number of lower-level government officials on charges of spying for the United States and Israel.
