Balkh Governor Mohammad Yousuf Wafa met with Kazakhstan’s Presidential Special Envoy, Perkin Tokumov, to discuss bilateral cooperation, trade, and regional transport corridors.

According to the Balkh governor’s press office, Wafa noted that the Islamic Emirate has established a structured governance system, curbed corruption and injustice, and emphasized the need to present an accurate image of Afghanistan to the international community.

He added that strengthening economic cooperation with Kazakhstan would benefit both countries.

Meanwhile, Tokumov noted that Afghanistan’s overall security situation is satisfactory and commended the Afghan authorities for their efforts to maintain stability.

He further noted that Kazakhstan plans to link its railway network to Afghanistan through Hairatan Port, a move expected to streamline and accelerate regional transport and trade corridors.
