Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has disclosed several key elements of a proposed agreement between Iran and the United States, outlining measures aimed at easing tensions and advancing broader negotiations.
According to Araghchi, the draft agreement includes a 60-day extension of the ceasefire, during which the Strait of Hormuz would be reopened to commercial shipping and maritime transit. The proposal would also allow Iran to resume unrestricted oil exports.
Under the preliminary framework, the United States would reportedly lift restrictions on Iranian ports, release a portion of Iran’s frozen assets, and grant limited sanctions waivers related to the country’s oil sector.
The draft also includes efforts to end the war between the Zionist regime and Lebanon, followed by formal negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program.
Meanwhile, U.S. officials told Axios that Iran has pledged it will not pursue nuclear weapons and is prepared to discuss suspending uranium enrichment while reducing its stockpile of highly enriched uranium.
