Lebanon’s President Joseph Aoun has said that national interests will remain a central priority in any negotiations with the Zionist regime, stressing that extending the ceasefire and stopping the destruction of villages are among the key objectives.
He also underscored the need for internal unity, warning against any attempts that could allow the Zionist regime to exploit domestic divisions.
In a related development, senior Hezbollah member Hussein Hassan stated that despite strained relations with the government, the group does not support a complete breakdown in relations and continues to recognize Aoun as the country’s president.
These remarks come as Lebanese and Zionist diplomats recently held talks, mediated by the United States, focusing on ending the ongoing conflict in southern Lebanon.
