Pakistani media have reported that a fire at a commercial market in the city of Karachi has left six people dead, 20 injured and 65 others missing.

According to the reports, the fire broke out yesterday at a crowded commercial complex known as Gul Plaza and continued for 24 hours.

Due to the intensity of the blaze, part of the building collapsed, significantly hampering rescue operations, the report said.

The commercial complex, which housed nearly 1,200 shops, was almost entirely destroyed in the fire.
