A mine explosion near a coal miners’ vehicle in Harnai Shahrak, Balochistan, has killed 10 people and left six others injured. Sources from Voice of Hindukush report that most of the victims were miner workers from Swat and other Pashtun-majority areas.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far. However, Baloch separatists have previously targeted mining workers in the region. They claim. that Balochistan’s mineral resources belong to the Baloch people and warn that anyone involved in mining activities will face similar consequences.
