The Ministry of Industry and Commerce has reported that Afghanistan’s trade sector saw significant growth in 1403 (solar year) compared to 1402. This expansion led to a rise in commercial transactions and increased consumer purchasing activity.

According to the ministry, Afghanistan’s total exports in 1403 reached $1.785 billion, while imports amounted to $11.164 billion.

The ministry stated that Afghanistan’s major export destinations last year included Pakistan, India, the United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Turkey, Iraq, and Tajikistan, with agricultural products comprising a substantial share of the exports.

Additionally, Afghan carpets, lead, and precious and semi-precious stones were among the exported goods. Meanwhile, petroleum products, flour, wheat, vehicle parts, medicinal herbs, oil, and rice were among the key imported commodities.
