Officials in South Korea and Japan reported that North Korea launched multiple ballistic missiles toward its eastern waters.
The launches mark the seventh missile test carried out by North Korea’s military since the start of the current year.
Authorities stated that the missiles were fired from an area near the city of Sinpo and landed in waters east of the Korean Peninsula.
In response, South Korean military officials convened an emergency meeting.
Meanwhile, Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, said that North Korea has made notable progress in its nuclear program.
