According to Mohammad Ashraf Haqshenas, spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Works, a total of 153,393 metric tons of goods were transported via the ministry’s railway lines during the past week (from Aqrab 30 to Qaws 6, 1404 in the Afghan Solar calendar).

He stated that 108,722 tons were transported through the Hairatan port, 104,021 tons through the Aqina port, 19,867 tons through the Torghundi port, and 14,383 tons via the Khaf-Herat railway.

Haqshenas added that out of the total transport, 63 tons were exports, mostly consisting of dried fruits.

He assured that the Ministry of Public Works is working to improve conditions for increased transport and to provide more facilities for traders.
