Pakistani Analyst Waqar Malik: Pakistani Military Opposes Peace Talks, Promotes Narrative of Negotiation Failure

Pakistani analyst and social activist Waqar Malik wrote on his X that the narrative of failed negotiations is being deliberately disseminated to the media by the Pakistani military regime.

Waqar Malik reaffirmed that the military has no interest in a successful resolution, arguing its priorities lie elsewhere.

As the second round of talks between the Afghan government and Pakistan’s military regime continues in Turkey, the Pakistani side appears to be using its media outlets to frame the negotiations as a failure.

Earlier, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif warned that if the talks collapse, Pakistan would openly declare war on Afghanistan.

This escalation comes despite reports that, just days ago, Pakistani military officials were seeking a ceasefire, appealing to Qatar and Saudi Arabia for mediation.
