Local sources told Voice of Hindukush that the Pakistani military carried out a drone strike early Friday morning on a civilian gathering in the Tirah Maidan area of Bara district, Khyber province, injuring several children.
The Pakistani Taliban expressed condolences to the victims and condemned the strike as a brutal act.
The group also wished the injured a swift recovery and voiced hope that the threat posed by the Pakistani military to civilians would soon come to an end.
It is worth noting that the Pakistani military has previously launched airstrikes on civilian areas across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa following setbacks in ground operations.
