Local sources in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa told Voice of Hindukush that the Pakistani Taliban killed 11 soldiers, including two senior officers, and injured several others in two coordinated attacks in Kurram district.

According to the sources, the first attack targeted the Joghi military base in the Dogar area, while the second hit a military supply convoy en route to the same base.

Sources confirmed that the dead included two senior officers, Junaid Tariq and Major Tayyab, along with nine other soldiers, while three others sustained injuries.

The Pakistani military confirmed the casualties while claiming to have inflicted losses on the attackers as well.

These attacks come amid rising reports from international media that the Pakistani Taliban has emerged as a major challenge to the Pakistani government, expanding its operations to other parts of the country.

The rogue Pakistani military does not want the existing problems between Pakistan and Afghanistan to be resolved through rational and peaceful means. Afghans fully understand why the Pakistani military carried out the massacre of women and children and what its objectives are. However, the Pakistani military should realize that it will not be able to drag Afghans into a war at the time of its own choosing. Rather, Afghans themselves will determine the appropriate time to engage in war and teach the Pakistani military a lesson. The Pakistani military will inevitably reap what it has sown, and it will pay a very heavy price for it.
