Voice of Hindukush sources report that six fighters from the Pakistani Taliban’s Special Forces (SIF), armed with advanced weaponry, ambushed a Pakistani military convoy this morning in the Patak area of Riasat Tehsil, Bajaur district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, inflicting heavy losses.

According to the sources, the convoy was on its way to the area to carry out a military operation when it came under fire. The attack left 15 soldiers dead at the scene, injured several others, and destroyed three military vehicles.

All six SIF fighters are reported to have withdrawn safely following the operation.
