The Directorate of Mines and Petroleum in Panjshir Province has reported that 22 million Afghanis in revenue were generated from the sale of emeralds over the past year.
Mohammad Qasim Amiri, Head of the Mines and Petroleum Directorate in the province, stated in an interview with the media that approximately 67,434 carats of emeralds were sold during this period.
Afghanistan is recognized both regionally and internationally for its distinctive and exceptional potential in the mining and natural resources sector.
It is worth noting that since the interim government came to power, the extraction of emeralds in Panjshir has been carried out in a regulated and legal manner, with all revenues deposited into the country treasury.
