According to a report by The Times of India, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to begin a five-nation tour from May 15 to 20.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Modi will first visit the United Arab Emirates on May 15, followed by official visits to the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, and Italy.

The visit comes amid rising global oil prices driven by the ongoing Middle East crisis.

Earlier, Modi had called for energy conservation, along with reductions in imports and gold purchases, and also urged limits on travel, in an effort to ease pressure on the country’s economic conditions.
