Resistance Front in Pakistan’s Embrace; Group Members of Resistance Front Have Arrived in Islamabad

Recently, Voice of Hindukush released an audio message from a mid-level member of the Resistance Front (Asadullah, son of Mohammad Ali), revealing efforts to transfer group members of the group from Iran to Pakistan. Confirming this message, several members of the Resistance Front admitted on social media that they have sought refuge under Pakistan’s wing.

The settlement of anti-Afghan government groups and figures in Islamabad over the past four years is a result of renewed secret meetings and old ties with the ISI, with these groups once again being used by the Pakistani military regime to fight against the Afghan nation for its own interests.

Resistance Front activists have justified their move to Islamabad on social media, calling it a positive step, and have promoted the propaganda narratives of Pakistani intelligence sources. Analysts believe that common interests and close ties between the Resistance Front and the Pakistani military regime have pushed the Front to adopt positions contrary to Afghanistan’s national interests.

Recently, strengthened ties between Afghanistan and countries like Iran and Tajikistan have made it increasingly difficult for opposition figures based there to continue their activities. Consequently, groups like the Resistance Front, amid strained relations between the Afghan government and the Pakistani military regime, have chosen Islamabad as a supportive host and sought refuge there.
