The Ministry of Water and Energy announced that Acting Minister Mullah Abdul Latif Mansoor met with Russian Ambassador Dmitry Zhirnov and his accompanying delegation in Kabul to discuss investment and bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, Minister Mansoor highlighted the improved security situation in Afghanistan, stating that the country is now fully prepared for investment. He invited both state-owned and private Russian companies to invest in Afghanistan’s water and energy projects, including initiatives focused on electricity generation from coal, wind, solar, and gas sources.
Ambassador Zhirnov assured the minister that he would share relevant information with Russian public and private enterprises regarding potential investment opportunities in Afghanistan’s water and energy sectors.
He also extended an invitation to Minister Mansoor to attend the Kazan Economic Forum, set to take place in May.
