After being closed for three days, the Salang Highway has been reopened for traffic since 7:00 AM this morning.

This significant route, connecting northern and southern Afghanistan, had been closed due to heavy snow and storms.

According to Mohammad Ashraf Haqshenas, spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Works, the efforts to clear the snow from the Salang highway have been completed, allowing both small and large vehicles to continue travel.

Mr. Haqshenas also urged drivers and travelers to equip themselves with essential winter gear and equipment and exercise caution while traveling on the highway to ensure their safety.
