Syrian media report that Saudi Arabia and Qatar have jointly announced a plan to cover the salaries of Syrian public sector employees for a period of three months. The initiative is aimed at supporting Syria’s economic recovery and alleviating the hardships faced by its citizens.

According to the joint statement, the assistance reflects the two countries’ sense of brotherhood with the Syrian people and seeks to contribute to economic and social stability, while improving living conditions across the country.

This development comes after both countries agreed to settle Syria’s $15 million debt to the World Bank.
