The Deputy Prime Minister’s Office for Economic Affairs said officials of the private company Afghan Invest reported that construction of the Shiberghan–Dasht-e-Alwan 500-kilovolt transmission line, along with the expansion of the Dasht-e-Alwan substation, is nearing completion.
According to the statement, company representatives provided the update during a Wednesday meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, noting that the project is expected to become operational within the next four months.
They also reported progress in the second phase of exploration work at the lead and zinc mine in the Tolk district of Ghor province. The company said it remains committed to completing the remaining work on schedule, with the participation of Afghan and international specialists.
Mullah Baradar praised the company’s efforts and stressed the importance of advancing not only the exploration of the mine but also the construction of a processing plant for full-scale production, as well as ensuring the required electricity supply.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs also assured the company of full cooperation from his office.
