The Tehran Times reports that Iran has exported non-oil goods worth $2.2 billion to Afghanistan in the past eleven months.

Foroud Askari, head of Iran’s Customs Administration, stated that during this period, Afghanistan ranked as Iran’s fifth-largest export partner.

The report specifies that these goods were exported between March 20, 2024, and February 18, 2025, covering an eleven-month period.

Additionally, the Tehran Times notes that Afghanistan imports over 80% of its required goods from abroad, with 25% of these imports sourced from Iran.

The newspaper further highlights that Afghanistan imports key products from Iran, including foodstuffs, oil, medicines, medical equipment, and construction materials.
