Recently, some figures opposing the Islamic government of Afghanistan, on the occasion of commemorating their fallen in the confrontation with the Islamic system and in the path of imposed Western democracy, have once again fallen into their vain dreams and spoken of “upcoming changes in Afghanistan,” just like in previous years. This is while these same individuals, considering Pakistan’s hostile stance toward the Islamic government of Afghanistan, are now relying on that country’s support for armed resistance and see it as a glimmer of hope.
In this context, some of the exiled and defeated political leaders of Afghanistan have recently appeared with a completely dual face toward Pakistan. Mohammad Mohaqiq, who for many years considered Pakistan the main cause of misery, insecurity, and bloodshed in Afghanistan and called it the number one enemy of the Afghan people, today refers to the same country as “brother” and introduces its military and political leaders as advocates of peace and stability in the region.
This is while just a month ago, Pakistan martyred nearly five hundred of the most oppressed members of Afghan society, the drug addicts under treatment, during the holy month of Ramadan and on the night of Qadar. However, giving the title of “Advocate of Peace and Stability in the Region” to such a regime is nothing but a blatant betrayal of the blood of the martyrs of the Night of Laylat al-Qadr and rubbing salt into the wounds of the Afghan nation.
Pakistan is not a country that anyone can today introduce as a peace-loving nation. The record of this country in Afghanistan and in the region has been nothing but hypocrisy and efforts to perpetually destabilize Afghanistan and the countries of the region. Therefore, relying on the support of such a country to advance the project of armed resistance is not a political analysis, but a foolish illusion and a repetition of past failed experiences.
On the other side, Ahmad Massoud, like in previous years, has once again made the same clichéd and repetitive statements, saying that the Afghan government is on the verge of collapse and changes are on the way. These statements are made while, over the past few years, the same claims have been repeated multiple times, but there has never been any sign of their realization on the ground. Media statements never replace field realities.
The reality is that those who today rely on Pakistan’s support have neither read the history of Afghanistan nor learned from the fate of those who depended on foreigners. They must understand that Pakistan will never be a stronger support and a more reliable refuge than Western countries.
In contrast, the Islamic government of Afghanistan, backed by its brave and valiant Mujahid nation and maintaining internal unity, stands against Pakistan and its proxy forces and will thwart any plans of the enemies of this land. Those who are still dreaming of imaginary changes thru Pakistan’s support do not see the reality on the ground, nor are they aware of the determination and resolve of the Afghan people to defend their land and values against their enemies and their servants.
