Reliable sources have confirmed to the Voice of Hindukush that, prior to his killing, Hasib Quwai-e-Markaz, a commander and close fighter of Ahmad Massoud, had decided to form a new group with several other fighters and opposition figures, including Khalid Amiri, Hafiz Mansoor, and Hamid Saifi, in order to separate from the Resistance Front. The formation of this new group was a continuation of the efforts to divide Ahmad Massoud’s family and regional fronts—a phase that, like the others, could not remain entirely secretive.

According to sources, Ahmad Massoud, his maternal uncle based in Pakistan, and other members of the group who have joined based on tribal connections and kinship, were facing severe anxiety. But the rifts within the resistance group are even deeper and more extensive. Based on the received information, internal distrust and factionalism within the Resistance Front have intensified over the past few months, and due to the acquisition of privileges based on nepotism, many mid-level members have separated from the Resistance Front.

Due to the separation of numerous mid-level members from the Resistance Front in recent months, the group’s activities outside the country have almost been paralyzed, and the group is on the brink of collapse. The monthly salaries of most of the group’s members have been suspended, and several former members have been expelled. Many have been forced to part ways with the group and turn to heavy labor.

The existing corruption, factionalism, tribalism, and nepotism within the front have intensified these disputes; according to the received information, the so-called resistance group’s intelligence chief, the head of the camp established in Pakistan, the commander of the operations from Pakistan, and his deputy (whose names have also reached to the Voice of Hindukush), have been appointed in the recent elections based on regional connections, and previous officials have been removed.

In the information received by the Voice of Hindukush, there is a list of around twenty individuals who have separated from the group due to deep disagreements and rifts; this list includes the security officer of the Mashhad office, the propaganda officer of the front, some officials and members of the security, military, political, media, intelligence, and administrative committees, who have distanced themselves from the group and turned to personal life.

This imbalance has also sparked discussions among the remaining members of the group, as there were individuals among the separated members of the front who had been active in various roles for the group for some time, but became victims of the imbalance and are now engaged in heavy work in foreign countries.

The disagreements within the resistance front are also due to the fact that monthly dollar salaries have been being paid to the Ahmad Massoud, Registani, and a few other close relatives. Based on tribal and familial connections, allocations from the front’s existing budget are given to Ahmad Massoud’s close associates and even sent to specific universities. In the front, these actions have forced the members of the mentioned group to separate, so that they are no longer victims of their false slogans.
