When the Taliban’s previous rule was dismantled due to the American invasion, NATO and the United Nations convened a meeting in Bonn, Germany, to establish a new administration for Afghanistan. The United States and its allied nations handed over the governance of Afghanistan, a great nation, to four small factions instead of a single entity, and entrusted the rule of this tormented country to a few specific individuals and groups.
Among them were groups and figures who, for the sake of their own and their party’s interests, pursued money, weapons, power, and positions, and in many critical moments of history, elevated their personal, regional, linguistic, organizational, and ethnic interests above Afghanistan’s national and greater interests. For some small material gains, they turned themselves into the losers of this world and the hereafter. Parties leaders and those who came to power through force, instead of engaging in true struggle, became engulfed in a sea of greed for positions, material wealth, and resources, with no way to return and heading towards an inevitable fate.
These individuals (politicians) and groups were kept in power for twenty consecutive years. The forty million people and citizens were filled with many honorable, respected, civilized, and knowledgeable individuals—people whose hands were not stained with the blood of others. However, the occupation period was prolonged, and the chance for others to engage in politics was denied. These people became new millionaires over the course of twenty years, and millionaires became billionaires. The representatives imposed on the Afghan people by the occupiers had chosen these one or two hundred faces to represent Afghanistan in interactions, negotiations, exchanges, and politics with the world. These people sold Afghanistan’s reputation, history, and position in every market of the world. For them, self-interest, personal gain, and group benefit were important. Such limited, unprofessional, and arbitrary rule was unacceptable to the Afghan people, but there was no other choice.
Now Afghans recognize their friends and enemies, and they are not deceived by the words of those so-called leaders and elders who, for their personal interests, are willing to lose all of Afghanistan and consider this great homeland as their personal property. The filled opinions of social activists in social media, full of disdain and reproach, unveil the dark faces of history, call the fleeing politicians political merchants, and want to inform the nation about their truth and essence.
A social activist briefly introduces them, saying: If there are political positions and presence of (political merchants) in the government, the Taliban are also good, they should be talked to, and they are also citizens of the country. Women’s rights are also protected, the tricolor flag is just a piece of cloth, and twenty or a hundred other values are not worth two sixteen coins. But if this is not the case, then war, turning the country into ruins, humiliating and insulting Afghans, the flag, the vote, women’s rights—these all become values, and cries and slogans are raised so that they can share power or at least be given a piece of bread and a place in foreign conferences, and be treated with respect.
Now it is the duty of the Afghan people to wake up from this deep sleep once again, recognize their friends and enemies, say no to the repeatedly sold-out politicians, and strive for the prosperity of their country.
