Local sources report that the Pakistani Taliban, acting on the instructions of their intelligence agency (TIA), attacked a police vehicle in the Daraban district of Dera Ismail Khan. The attack left three police officers dead and one critically injured.
According to the sources, the attackers also seized a Kalashnikov rifle and a quantity of other military equipment from the scene.
Pakistani authorities have yet to comment on the incident.
It is worth noting that the Pakistani Taliban have recently intensified their activities beyond Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, carrying out deadly attacks against Pakistani security forces almost everyday.
