The Associated Press has reported that the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump has dismissed more than 1,300 employees from the State Department.

According to the source, this move is part of a workforce reduction strategy but has sparked widespread reactions regarding administrative procedures, human rights, and political motives.

Out of the 1,353 employees who received official dismissal notices via email, 1,107 were non-diplomatic administrative staff and 246 were official diplomats.

The report adds that this is part of a broader plan to reduce the department’s human resources, aimed at cost control, eliminating “non-essential positions,” and establishing a “more efficient organizational structure.”

It is worth noting that since Trump took office, thousands of employees across various U.S. government departments have been removed from their posts.
