U.S. President Donald Trump has met with a number of leaders from Arab and Islamic countries on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly and discussed the war with Iran and regional security with them.
Reports indicate that the meeting was attended by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, King Abdullah II of Jordan, Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa, Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidy, along with officials from several other countries.
Trump said U.S. special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner held three hours of talks with the Iranian delegation, describing the meeting as “very good and productive.”
He added that there is a possibility of continuing negotiations with Iran toward reaching an agreement.
