CNN has reported that representatives of Russia and Ukraine reached an agreement on a prisoner exchange during the third round of talks held yesterday in Istanbul, Turkey.
According to the source, both sides agreed on the exchange of prisoners; however, no consensus was reached regarding a ceasefire, ending the war, or a meeting between the presidents.
Reports indicate that during 40 minutes of discussions in Istanbul, the Russian and Ukrainian delegations agreed to exchange at least 1,200 prisoners.
The reports also state that both parties accepted the exchange of at least 1,200 prisoners, and Russia additionally offered to return the bodies of hundreds of Ukrainian soldiers.
According to the source, Ukraine proposed a meeting between Presidents Zelensky and Putin, but Moscow insisted that such a meeting should only take place to sign an agreement.
