The United Nations says Sudan’s humanitarian crisis has worsened, with heavy fighting in El Fasher and Kordofan driving mass displacement and deepening the emergency.

In its latest report, the UN estimates that 30 million people across the country now require urgent humanitarian assistance.

Recent clashes have forced about 90,000 residents to flee El Fasher and another 50,000 from Kordofan state, according to sources.

The UN has called on the international community to confront, rather than ignore, the escalating disaster in Sudan.
