Reports suggest that unidentified gunmen launched an attack on the shop of Qari Abdul Rahman, the regional leader of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat, in the Qaedabad area of Karachi. The attack resulted in three individuals, including Qari Abdul Rahman’s father, sustaining serious injuries. Qari Abdul Rahman later succumbed to his wounds.

This incident occurs amidst a rising wave of targeted killings of religious scholars and leaders in major Pakistani cities, including those in Pashtun-majority areas.

Public opinion widely holds that these attacks are being orchestrated by the Pakistani government to divert attention from its failures and further its intelligence agendas.
