The UAE Ministry of Defense announced that it ended its military presence in Yemen.

According to the statement, Emirati forces were largely withdrawn from Yemen in 2019, leaving only specialized counterterrorism teams in the country. A decision has now been taken to withdraw these remaining units as well.

The UAE said the move followed updated assessments focused on ensuring the safety of its personnel.

This development comes after Saudi Arabia issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the UAE earlier today, calling for the complete withdrawal of its troops from Yemen.
