    United States to Reduce Tariffs on Indian Imports to 18 Percent

    US President Donald Trump has agreed to lower tariffs on goods imported from India from 50 percent to 18 percent.

    According to reports, Trump made the announcement following a telephone conversation with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

    He said India will stop purchasing oil from Russia and may instead source oil from the United States or Venezuela.

    Trump also called the Indian prime minister a strong leader and a close friend.
