US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is considering the use of frozen Iranian assets to compensate Gulf Arab countries for damages caused by Iranian attacks.

He has also appointed a special team to assess the costs of repair and reconstruction linked to those attacks.

Meanwhile, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said Tehran insists that 50 percent of its frozen assets be released immediately under the terms of the memorandum of understanding.
