Several Republican officials close to US President Donald Trump have called on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to either change his position in the war with Russia or step down from power.

Reuters has reported that this pressure from Republican officials followed a controversial meeting between Zelensky and Trump’s Vice President, JD Vance.

Trump’s National Security Advisor, Mike Waltz, stated that if Zelensky fails to engage in effective negotiations with Russia and does not bring an end to the war, the leadership of Ukraine should be changed.
